No person shall drive any Motor Vehicle and no owner of Motor Vehicle shall cause or permit the vehicle to be driven in any public place or any other place, unless the vehicle is Registered in accordance with Chapter IV of the MV Act,1988.

Temporary vehicle new Registration at mp rto
- Sales Certificate in Form 21.
- Road worthiness certificate in Form 22 from the manufacturers(Form 22A) from the Body builder).
- Valid insurance Certificate.
- Pollution Under Control Certificate.
- Proof of Address(Ration Card,Electricity Bill,…)
- Design approval copy of STA in case Trailar or Semi Trailar.
- Original Sales Certificate from the concerned Authorities in Form 21 in the case of Ex-Army Vehicle.
- Customs Clearance Certificate in the case of Imported Vehicles.
- Unless exempted, the Fee payable to the Temporary Registration or for its extension shall be Rs.50/- as per Rule 42(10)of Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules,1989.

Permanent vehicle Registration at mp rto
An application for registration of a Motor Vehicle shall be made in Form 20 to the Registering Authority within a period of 7 days from the date of delivery of such vehicle excluding the period of journey and accompanied by
- Sales Certificate in Form 21.
- Roadworthiness certificate in Form 22 from the manufacturers(Form 22A from the body builder)
- Valid insurance Certificate.
- Proof of Address(Ration Car, Electricity Bill..)
- Design approval copy of STA in case Trailar or Semi Trailar.
- Original Sales Certificate from the concerned Authorities in Form 21 in the case of Ex-Army vehicles.
- Pollution Under Control Certificate.
- Customs Clearance Certificate in the case of Imported Vehicles.
- Appropriate Fee as specified in Rule 81 of CMV Rules,1989.
- Tax as per Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act/Rules.
Assignment of vehicle Registration mp rto mark
On receipt of an application, the Registering Authority while assigning registration mark as laid down in Rule 80,shall assign the registration number which falls in serial order after the last registration mark assigned.
Assignment of registration mark of choice.-The Registering Authority shall assign a registration mark to the owner of a motor vehicle of his choice from amongst the registration marks, reserved for choice in each series through open auction. at the time of auction the highest successful bidder shall be allotted the registration mark on payment of required fee.
Provided that if the owner of a motor vehicle holding any of the number, specified in the Sixth Schedule, from any previous series, wants to retain that number for his new motor vehicle, he shall be charged half of the fee, fixed for that number:
Provided further that the Registering Authority may assign unutilized specified registration marks to motor vehicles, owned by the State Government without charging any additional fee.
Renewal of Certificate of mp rto vehicle Registration
An application for Renewal of Certificate of Registration shall be made in Form 25 not more than 60 days before the date of its expiry, by paying the appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules,1989, to the Registering Authority in whose Jurisdiction the vehicle is.
Requirements:
- Original Certificate of Registration
- Pollution Under Control Certificate.
- Valid insurance Certificate
Duplicate of Certificate of vehicle Registration
An application for issue of duplicate Certificate of Registration shall be made in Form 26. If covered by Finance/Hire Purchase/Lease with the signatures of the Financier on Form 26 in duplicate, duly paying the appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, to the Registering Authority in whose Jurisdiction the vehicle is.
Requirements:
- Police Certificate(FIR)in case of loss of Certificate of Regostration.
- Original Certificate of Regostration.(If damaged).
Transfer of Ownership for Certificate of vehicle Registration at madhya pradesh
An application for issue of Transfer of Ownership shall be made in Form 29(in Duplicate) and Form 30.(in Duplicate if covered by Finance/Hire Purchase /Lease) with the signatures of the financer, duly paying the appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules,1989, to the Registering Authority in whose Jurisdiction the transferor and transferee resides or has their place of business.

- No Objection Certificate(in case of Other State Vehicle)
- No Objection Certificate from Financier( if Vehicle is Covered by Finance)
- Pollution Under Control Certificate.
- Proof of residence.

No-Objection Certificate
An application for issue of No Objection Certificate shall be made in Form 28(in triplicate) to the Registering Authority by which the Vehicle was previously Registered/Transferred.

For Non Transport vehicles [Private vehicles]
Dealer itself will provide you the registration certificate for new vehicle at the time of purchase. You will have to submit required documents mentioned below to your dealer or showroom owner.
Dealer will enroll your vehicle online via Online dealer Point Registration Process, pay fees and tax online and provide you the Registration Number there itself.
Dealer will submit your documents in RTO for approval. Once approved, your Registration Smart will be printed and sent at your postal address.
Transport Vehicles [Commercial Vehicles])
Approach your nearest customer service center or Registering Authority RTO.
Requirement of Certificate of Registration
The vehicle can be driven or allowed to be driven in public place only after registration by registering authority.
Physical Presence:
It is mandatory to produce the vehicle in front of inspecting authority (Only for commercial vehicles). Inspecting authority will inspect and give the clearance certificate for registration of vehicle.

- One time road tax as applicable.

- Certificate of Registration isistrationsued is valid throughout India.
- Certificate of Registration is issued for 15 years for Non Transport vehicles [Private vehicles].
- Certificate of Registration is issued for 2 years for Transport vehicles and after that owner of vehicle have to obtain the fitness certificate every year from the Registering authority.
- Driving License issued for transport vehicle will be valid for three years.
